If you've ever suffered from dandruff, then you know what a pain it can be. Flaking, itching and by the end of it having a tender scalp. But what is dandruff?
Dandruff is a scalp condition that causes flakes to appear. Your sebaceous gland produces sebum which makes your skin and scalp oily. The oil almost causes a barrier, not allowing the scalp to shed any dead skin cells. The dandruff occurs as the oils and dead skin cells dry together. This is where clay washing comes in. It is a natural healing clay that lifts toxins and gets rid of impurities.
Clay washing will help cleanse your tresses naturally without stripping it of all essential moisture and proteins. As clay washing is an important step to any hair regime.

Make The Most Of Your Clay Wash
As the clay comes in a powdered type form, a liquid is needed to make the clay more of a pliable consistency turning it into a clay hair masque. While water is great and is our hairs number one moisturiser, many naturalistas use liquids such a Aloe Vera juice, Rose water or even a little ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar).
Applying a clay wash couldn't be simpler. To wash your hair: In a small plastic bowl, mix 2 tbsp of the treatment with 4 tbsp of warm water to activate the treatment. Apply the treatment to your hair and roots, and let the treatment sit on hair for 8-15 minutes under a plastic cap. Then allow hair to be rinsed thoroughly with warm water and be amazed! - Using a metal spoon or bowl will lessen the effects of the clay.
Tip: For best results apply on damp, already detangled hair and apply mixture in twisted sections. Cover shoulders with towel before starting.
