The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

Hi, I’m Cheryl and I live in Norfolk, UK. I straightened my hair for over 15 years, and one day I decided to go curly. I was sick of frying my ends with straighteners and my hair looking dry and lifeless. I wore my hair curly using basic curl products from supermarkets etc for the first few years. Until I came across Flora & Curl. And wow! My curls have never looked and felt so good. Their Sweet Hibiscus Curl Volumizing Foam is the best product I have ever used. It is so lightweight but gives such amazing definition & hold. The volume it adds to my curls is insane!! I pair this with the lotion and gel for extra hold and definition, the Rose Water Cream Shampoo is lightweight and foamy & the leave in Rose Water Cream Conditioner leaves my hair super soft.

And the whole range smells absolutely amazing! I use the Coconut Mint Scalp Refresh Oil once a week too, this looks after my scalp and helps loosen any build up & deeply cleans it. I add that on before cleansing, covering with a shower cap for around 10 minutes. I look forward to trying more of the Flora & Curl range as my hair definitely love this brand as much as I do.

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

I have some thinning on my scalp so finding a style routine that helped me to cover the majority of my visible scalp was tricky. But I’m almost there! I still have occasions where my double crown will show a little at the back! But when my hair looks as good as it does - people won’t notice that little bit.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

Take your time perfecting your wash day & finding what works for you and your hair. No one’s hair is the same, it took me a few years to figure my hair out. And now my wash days are much easier.

Discovering Flora & Curl

What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?

I saw them used on Instagram by an influencer I follow and I had to try them!

How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?

My hair looked visibly healthier, shinier, fuller and more defined.

Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?

The Sweet Hibiscus Curl Volumizing Foam is my favourite. It adds definition, bounce, and as it states volume! Perfect for thin hair like mine.

What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?

I start with the Coconut Mint Scalp Refresh Pre-Shampoo Oil with a shower cap for 10 mins, massaging into scalp and roots. Then cleanse with Rose Water Cream Shampoo and the Rose Water Cream Conditioner. I then comb through the Rose Water Detangling Lotion and squish in. Then I add the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion, followed by the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel & ending with the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Volumizing Foam. Squishing into hair to help define the curls. Hover diffuse roots, then ends I cup with diffuser until 80% dry. Once 100% dry I scrunch out any crunch and. Fluff my roots. Et voila!

What sets Flora & Curl apart from other brands/products on the market?

They are natural ingredients, smell beautiful and don’t leave nasty chemicals in your hair.
