Meet Leire from Spain! Leire hadn't always had a healthy relationship with her curls, but now she's on the right path to loving them and teaching her young daughter to love her curls too! Kudos to you, Leire. It's all about self-love, right?!
What inspired you to return natural?
My name's Leire and I'm Spanish, from the Basque country in the north. When I was little, my mother used to straighten my hair because apparently it never looked "well combed". I've never let my curls grow and shine because I've always thought that they were an ugly mess.
I used to cut my hair and felt like a boy, but of course, that's what I had to do. My hair wasn't like the other girls' - shiny straight and long hair. My hair was considered 'weird', and not interesting at all. People would use to refer to my hair as broccoli! I had to hear this every day.
When I grew older, I tied them away because it was much more comfortable for me. Now, I am in my thirties, I realise that people love my curls and some are actually quite jealous of them.
I decided I needed to take a look at them and treat them as they are, my treasure and my distinguishable feature. Two years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful daughter and guess what? She is a blondie curly! From that moment on I decided to start using Flora & Curl.
What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?
My main problem was what products to use: big brands, smaller ones... I've always thought that big brands would be the best choice, but not all big brands use natural ingredients, and this was a must in my routine. I am conscious about the environment and also about the quality of products.
What is your number 1 curl tip?
My curl tip would be to not hide your curls. Let them be free, look after them, let them shine and add definition!
What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?
I'd seen Flora & Curl on Instagram. The first thing that noticed was how colourful the brand is. The results are shiny and beautiful. When I read the ingredients and saw that they were all natural, I smiled and decided to buy them.
How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?
My hair completely changed: it looks shiny, with great volume and so alive!

My favourite one... actually 2, is the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion and the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel. My must-haves!!
What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?
Every 2 days I apply the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion softly on my hair. I let it penetrate using a cap and then apply the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel.
