The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

Hello, My name is Stefani and I am from the beautiful island of Cyprus. I am 29 years old and I am a data analyst. As a kid I had curly brown hair but when I was a teen, I started straightening my hair and the curls never come back since then. I got inspired during covid lockdowns where I had more time to spend on my hair. After I bought sulfate and silicone free Shampoos and Conditioners, I also bought some curl creams such as the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion and gels like the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel, some deep conditioning masks and 2-3 different brushes. Then the journey had begun.

I was watching hundreds of videos on instagram for different styling methods, how to moisturise my hair after washing, how to apply the cream and brush the curls, how to apply the gel and then how to scrunch it out. Now, one year later the results are HUGE, my curls are almost completely back in form with shine, no frizz, volume and no grease. I only wash them twice per week. All of my colleagues, friends and family love my hair now. I try to inspire others as well and have bought my friends some products to start the curly journey too.

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

The challenges where when I had to attend some weddings during summer and I didn't want to straighten my hair but I had to because my curls were still in their transitioning phase. And also, weddings in Cyprus in the summer months can hit 40 degrees. So, I went to the hairstylist (not a curly specialist) washed my hair with silicones and sulfates and styled with straighteners.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

USE A LOT OF WATER WHEN STYLING. This is the tip that helped me the most. Keep the hair moisturised with water before applying a gel.
