The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

Hi! I'm name is Keila, I'm 24 years old and I from San José, Costa Rica. This is a tropical country so I have to fight with frizz every day and when I was younger my hair was so frizzy and without definition - this stopped me from loving them.

In college I cut my hair very very short to be more comfortable and when it grew again I saw a big beautiful curls, so I decided to be more careful with them and return to natural. I started to follow the curly girl method and was so disciplined with it, and the changes are HUGE. I then started to follow Instagram influencers, searching for tips on the internet and looking for better products. These things have a huge impact on your hair. So, never give up and remember that you can have good products that are natural and environmentally friendly.

Today my hair looks amazing and I'm totally in love with it and with me. It has not been easy, but I have learnt so much about my hair and me. I know i'm not done yet but people see me and say that my hair is beautiful and I'm so grateful for that.

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

Know that we have good hair days and bad hair days. This is totally normal for our curly hair. Also buy the correct products for your hair. I have bottles that I am incapable of finishing because my hair doesn't like the product and it's money that I have unfortunately lost, but when you find the right product it is amazing.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

Learn the Curly Girl Method it's awesome! You don't have to follow it very strictly if you don't want to. For instance, it is better to see what your hair wants.

I saw the products in virtual stores in my country and I fell in love with the ingredients so I just had to try them!
