Michelle has since learnt so much from the curly community and has finally found lightweight products that have helped embrace her natural curl pattern and restore her curl confidence! The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

Hey, I am Michelle from Ingolstadt (Germany). I am 21 years young and work in healthcare. My Curl Journey started after I came home from living in Australia for 8 months. I had no straighteners or a hair dryer in Australia and after a while my hair started to go wavy again.

I was quite shocked but not surprised since I had waves when I was younger - but my hair was damaged from heat until it didn‘t curl anymore. When I was younger I didn't know how to take care of my hair and straightening it was the easiest solution for my "problem".

When I came home I struggled with my natural damaged hair so I started to follow the Curly Girl Method. A few months later my hair started to form more and more waves/medium curls. The main reason why I started to follow this method was because I wanted to get my hair in a healthy condition and of course I wanted to have my waves back. Also my scalp was in a bad condition because of the products I used in Australia. I had an itchy and very dry scalp but following the cgm with the right products helped me to get my scalp fixed and back to hydrated and not itchy. (Thank god!)

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

The start was quite hard in the beginning. I was struggling with finding the right products and styling methods that suit my hair best. But it got easier when I learned about what my hair needs. Sometimes it was really depressing because of the way my hair looked after a bad wash day and for a long time I used products that were way to heavy for my fine waves/medium curls.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

Don't give up on your natural curls! The start is never easy but it gets better over time!

I first heard about Flora & Curl when I received the Lockenbox with your products in it. The Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo is now one of my holy grails! When you launched the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Volumizing Foam I couldn’t resist and bought it as soon as it was available at Saricurls! This also became a holy grail and I am already on my second bottle!

How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?

My hair has got stronger, healthier and my waves/medium curls started to keep their form and wouldn’t drop out as fast. Also my scalp really loved the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo! I can go now 5 days without washing it and it won’t get dry or itchy at all.

Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?

The Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo! My scalp loves it and the protein in it helps strengthening my hair. It also cleans my hair very good even though there isn't any sulfates in it which is amazing! It leaves me and my scalp feeling fresh after using it!

What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?

I use the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo first. Afterwards I use a deep conditioner and follow up with the Rose Water Cream Conditioner. For styling I use the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Volumizing Foam and the I diffuse my hair until dry.

The products are truly amazing from the inside, out. Most of their products work on every type of curl and the smell is always amazing! They don’t promise something that the product can’t do and the ingredients are also very good!
