The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

My name is Carla, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Valladolid, Spain. I have always loved my hair but I haven't known how to take care of it. In October of last year, I started seeing accounts related to the curly method, but @llanosbs was the one that made me take the plunge.

I really like to take care of myself with natural products, which are not harmful to me or the environment, regardless of the cost. I went to the only curly hairdresser in my city where they recommended your shampoo, conditioner, gel and leave in. My hair was very soft and natural and since then I have been waiting for your Molasses Moisture Mask to come back in stock. Despite so much information, I have learned a lot about the method and how to love my curls even more and understand what kind of care they need.

I think Flora and Curl is a success for all hair types. My scalp is oily, my hair thin and porous type 3a/3b and any product makes my hair feel greasy and weighed down. I've only been transitioning for a few months so I expect even better results with these products. I will not go back to the unsuitable products and brands because my hair notices a lot of the difference in ingredients and they love Flora and Curl.

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

I think my biggest challenges have been tangles, frizz and loss of definition. The solution to these three problems has been to protect when sleeping, and use a product for definition—according to the characteristics of my hair, that is, that leaves the curl neither with much cast nor too stretched.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

Define with a brush. This definition technique makes my curls last longer and curls up more.

What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?

The first time I saw the brand was in 2016 on Instagram. Back then I remember that I would just wash my hair with any shampoo and sometimes defined with foams. I was very struck by the packaging, but I didn't know anything about the brand or the curly method until a few months ago.

How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?

I have noticed my hair is healthier and softer, and at the same time less oily and stretched. In addition, the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo cleanses all the build-up and grease in my hair and makes my curls last longer and feel cleaner than ever.

Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?

The Rose Water Cream Conditioner because it is very difficult for me to detangle my hair, but this one does it perfectly without contributing any weight.

What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?

Right now I wash with the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo, condition with the Rose Water Cream Conditioner, and define with the Rose Water Detangling Lotion  and the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel. I'm looking forward to trying the Coconut Mint Scalp Refresh Shampoo and the Rose Water & Honey Molasses Moisture Mask. 

What sets Flora & Curl apart from other brands/products on the market? 

In my case, it is the brand that best controls my greasiness, and defines my hair without frizz and weight. The products make my hair smooth and are said to work on wavy, curly, afros curls even though our textures and characteristics are different. In addition, the products are very packed with good ingredients and smell great.
