Do you remember when you were little and it was time to get your hair styled? Sitting on the floor waiting for you hair to be plaited and styled with some cute clips and bobbles. A lot has changed since then!
When you think about it, styling your child’s hair is an important part of every little child’s hair journey. Not to mention using products and accessories that contain gentle ingredients that won’t harm their delicate hair. We share with you a few tips on how to care for your little ones hair to big kid tresses.
Moisturising Is Key
Children’s hair can get extremely dry very quickly. With every day rough and tumble, hat wearing in the winter and swimming lessons, there are a lot of things that can take away the all important moisture that is needed to help keep those curls in check.
This is where our Hydrate Me line will come in handy. Our full Hydrate Me Set will help keep curls detangled, soft and hydrated. Why not also protect little curls against harmful UV rays against damages caused by the sun, sea and chlorinated water with our Citrus Superfruit Radiance Oil?
Scalp Care Is Important
Did you know, a dry scalp can cause dry hair? Hair health starts from the scalp, no matter how old you are. So keeping your child’s scalp clean and nourished, will help promote hair growth and overall scalp hair health. Even at a young age, children can experience discomfort on their scalp. Our naturally derived Soothe Me Line collection is gentle enough to use on tender heads while nourishing the scalp, cleansing it of product build-up while hydrating refreshed curls.
Detangle With Care
Gone are the days when detangling use to hurt and the tools were much smaller. The key is to take your time. Work in sections and be gentle when detangling.
It is also important to never detangle on dry hair. This will cause unnecessary breakage and a lot of pain. Our Rose Water Curl Mist is the perfect companion to infuse your little ones' curls with Rose Water and Aloe Vera. If their hair does dry before you finish detangling then not to worry, just spritz some more mist to re-dampen their tresses.
Trying using your fingers, a wide tooth comb or detangling brush with our moisturising Rose Water Detangling Lotion. It is infused with Rose Water, Honey, Sunflower, Oat and Marigold and Vitamin B, it will leave your child’s hair soft and easy to manage, while smoothing the hairs cuticle and adding shine.
Time To Style
Other than the whole hair experience, styling is one of the most memorable parts that your child will remember. Especially if they request any pretty accessories like bobbles and clips.
The options are endless with braids, cornrows, buns, twists and many more styles. Whatever style your child decides to have, remember the hair line and curls themselves are super sensitive, so refrain from pulling, combing or braiding too tightly.
Our Sweet Hibiscus Twist & Braid Cream is a rich styling cream. Perfect for setting those braids and twists while also providing moisture, shine and definition.
If you want a lighter in texture curl cream, opt for our Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion which gives a soft hold, while moisturising their curls and providing superb shine.
Teaching your little ones to love their curls is the most important thing. Especially from an early age. Why not get them involved by letting them apply a small amount of product to a small section of hair. This way your child gets to be involved and haircare can be a memorable and happy experience.
