Seeds 101: The Best Seeds for Promoting Hair Growth

When it comes to hair growth, many naturalistas are quick to run to the store to buy pre-packaged hair growth aids for convenience. But if we all take the time to make our own natural home remedies, you are able to see the benefits of what your hair likes, what exactly is going into your hair, and you can customise what seeds and oils work for you.

Flax seeds, Pumpkin seeds and Fenugreek seeds to name a few are some of the most talked about seeds used to aid in hair growth. Along with popular oils such as Coconut, Olive, Grapeseed, Jojoba, Amla and Vitamin E oils, these can help aid in having a healthy scalp and promote healthy growth.

FLAX SEEDS

These are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and are amazing for hair growth. They help nourish the hair shaft making them stronger and less prone to breakage. Omega 3 fatty acids are known to have great anti-inflammatory properties. Along with oil, how about making your own Flax Seed gel?

PUMPKIN SEEDS

Pumpkin seeds contain plenty of rich fatty oils which are amazing for hair growth. Containing Omega 3, B vitamins, magnesium, iron and protein to name a few, the seeds have the capacity to improve the quality and strength of our hair. Now that it's winter, how about adding in pumpkin seeds to your favourite deep conditioner?

FENUGREEK SEEDS

For many years Fenugreek seeds have been used for curing hair problems and aiding in growth. These amazing seeds carry so many benefits. Not only improving hair growth, these seeds also help rebuild the hair follicles, strengthen each strand from the roots, prevents breakage, treats dandruff and decreases thinning hair. Packed with nicotinic acid and Lecithin, it is high in fibre and protein. Perfect for our parched tresses.

Flora Curl tip: Try soaking the seeds for a few days in a mix of your favourite oils to create your own naturally infused hair growth oil or soaking the seeds and grinding them into a paste and add to your deep conditioner. Create your own hair growth aid that caters to you. Who’s ready to make their own?

Naturally yours,

Team Flora & Curl

Amazing! Makes me and my curls very happy :)

Honestly tried a bunch of stuff, but nothing has worked for me as nicely as this stuff. I have 2b/3a curls, high porosity and it's very thin. If I scrunch this into my hair, my curls and volume come back, which I love. I did need to get used to the unique smell, it's not bad, just quite uncommon for a hair product (hibiscus).

Great smell!

Love the smell of the products, super light doesn't wear your hair down. Still figuring out how to keep the curl in my hair the whole day, but havent used these products for too long yet.

Such a good find!

During lockdown I've taken the time to really try and find good products for my hair. The scent is quite interesting but to me it doesn't matter as it's more what it does than what it smells like.
And what it does do it define my different textured hair and also all I need to do it spritz with water for next day curls as Well!
Very good product xx
