4 Tips To Grow Your Tresses & Retain Length

Who doesn't want long healthy curls. It's true what people say, the health of your hair is more important than hanging onto 'damaged' length, but we can always have both right? 

PROTECTIVE STYLING

Leaving your hair alone in a protective style will do wonders for your tresses. It allows your natural hair to relax and grow without you having to do any type of manipulation to your hair. Protective styling is great for healthy hair growth and length retention because you get to see how much growth and length you have retained. Whatever your choice of style is, remember to keep your natural hair clean and moisturised. Low manipulation hair styles are the best for retaining length and growing your tresses. In between protective styling, it is important to let your hair breath by giving it a break.

KEEP YOUR HAIR MOISTURISED 

Typically curly hair is much drier than straighter curl patterns. Due to its curly strands, natural oils find it hard to travel down a curly hair pattern. Moisturising is key in any hair journey. Keeping up with your regular wash routine is important to bringing moisture back into your hair as water is a number one moisturiser. Keeping your tresses moisturised and locking in moisture while we LOC (Liquid, Oil, Cream) or LCO (Liquid, Cream, Oil) is the perfect step for starting a great moisture routine. Doing weekly scalp massages with your favourite oil will condition your scalp and help stimulate your hair follicles for hair growth. Make sure to focus of your ends. They are the oldest part of your hair, therefore prone to breakage and spilt ends. Remember, you want to retain the length of your curls.

DEEP CONDITION

Whether you're 100% natural, newly natural or transitioning, you should be deep conditioning every wash day, if not every other wash day or whenever you feel your curls need some extra TLC. This helps to strengthen and build the new hair follicles coming in. Deep conditioning is a staple for any wash day routine. You can condition with or without heat (the longer the better). Using indirect heat helps the hair cuticle open up to allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair shaft. Making your hair shiner, less dense, stronger and improving the overall health of your hair.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Remember to keep your routine simple and be patient! The more simple your hair routine is, the easier it will be to give your hair the self care its needs. Wash, condition, moisturise and style. That's it. Everyone has a different growth rate, so don't get disheartened if you notice a slower growth rate between yourself and your fellow curly friend. Taking proper care, your hair will result in maximum growth and length retention. Do fall in love with your curls, your texture, your pattern and you hair shape. Self love starts with you. Simple!

Amazing Product!

It was so simple using this product and my 4C hair felt so soft after washing it out. I could literally run my hands through my hair with no tangle. This is my go to for whenever my hair is super dry and feels lifeless. Also it smells wonderful!!
