What is National Clean Beauty Day?
Celebrated on the 15th July, National Clean Beauty Day is a celebration of beauty brands who have developed products that are clean and sustainable, and created mindfully. These products are not tested on animals, contain clean healthy ingredients, are free from harsh chemicals, and are ethically sourced all while catering to the environment and the health of our bodies in mind.
How to build your own clean beauty routine in 3 easy steps
A healthy scalp always means healthy curls, so starting a new routine doesn’t need to be hard. It can be overwhelming figuring out to where to start when there are so many products that house a whole host of ingredients. The one thing I have learnt is to not rush and take your time. These 3 simple tips should help you in starting your own clean beauty routine.
- Keep your routine simple
Start with what you have and go from there. You don’t need to go out and buy a whole new haircare set. Finish up what you have and then look around for cleaner and healthier alternatives. Clean curl care doesn't have to be complicated.
- Research the brand and their products
I don’t know about you, but I find it is always nice to know a brands ethos and what they stand for. Our plant powered curl care is made within the UK and in small batches to ensure the freshness of each product. - Get to know your ingredients
As a basis, it is good to know what ingredients aren't particularly suitable for curly hair. Sulphates, silicones and parabens are the starting point. So, ensure you check the INCI (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient) list to see if there are any of these drying and harsh ingredients in your products before you make a purchase.
